Group: Serrino, Olivia, Rocha
Name: "-"
It is very interesting that our group members came up the same idea at the same time---We all thought about "Shh" as our group logo inspiration at the very beginning. Nonverbal communication can be totally expressed in this simple word-"Shh". Just be quiet, then, feel.
Here is our sketches for our logo.We just kept drawing and drawing our nonstop ideas at first. Because you never know what amazing thing will pop up in your mind when you doing brain storm.
After each of us drew own ideas, we picked main ideas, and then, we tried to combine them together in digtal way.
Ater class critique, we found that we put too much main ideas inside our logo. It's true, we did not want to throw all main ideas, ended at "too much." It's the beauty of class critique--- be told different and very useful suggestions.
In addition to this, we did not just change the form of our logo, but also the colors. We changed the black and red creepy combination to soft pastal colors.
Finally, final logo.
Less Is More.
For our final design, we want to make it really useful in life, so we made a hand-out booklet. It includes 10 pages of 5 inches times 5 inches squares. In this booklet, we designed three ways to do nonverbal communication based on our research.
" When I do not talk to anyone, I prefer to listen to the music, it makes me peaceful." This quote is from my best friend Yixuan Shan. She gave us an inspiration of music communication---listening to other's favorite music to know more about her/him. Also, my friend Elina said "nonverbal communication reminds me of being a baby, when I didn't know how to talk, mom's heartbeats is the only thing can give me the sense of secure." . It is a very unique thought for us and we got the second idea---listen to other's heartbeats for communicating, just feel inside without language. The third way is the most common way for most people---eye contact. That's how majority people "talk" to strangers and get first impression.
In our booklet, we tried to be simple and clean. We wanted to be very clearly to guide people how to communicate without language with others.
Here is the almost final pieces of our designs in black and white version. At the end, we still choose black version one.
Final Booklet Design
We love our final piece and really looking forward to hearing class critique on Friday.
